Percy Jackson and the Olympians

I have just finished reading the first three books in the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series by Rick Riordan, The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters& The Titan’s Curse. What a great ride. Great characters and lots of action. I always hear people complaining because there aren’t good “boy” books. Well here they are and they are “girl” friendly as well. All three books are great. I am more excited about the next Percy Jackson book than the next Harry Potter book.

  1. I like to believe I’m plugged in to the very core of “hipness,” yet still, I managed to have never heard of these books. They look rad. “The Real Live Adventures Of a Teenage Perseus?” As a man who is not ashamed to admit to having seen Clash Of the Titans (Ray Harryhausen monsters! Yay!) roughly a million times, I say unto thee, “sign me up.”

  2. Dylan, You won’t be disappointed. The more you know about Greek Mythology the better. I met Rick Riordan at Books of Wonder (very cool Bookstore) in New York. I have signed first editions. At the time I had no idea how much I would like the books.

  3. I’ll have to check to see if our library has these books… I am sort of in a reading lull until the next Harry Potter book comes out. My wife is re-reading all the previous Harry Potter books before the last one comes out, I think I’d rather read something new.

The latest book I read was the Little Prince. It was a quick read in one night. It was an interesting little book. I also just read Eragon.

I’ve been looking for a series that can keep me occupied this summer when it gets HOT here in Dallas.
