Penguin Toss 2 is my entry this week in the Spoonflower design challenge. I have been learning how to create fabric patterns that work for quilters. According to my friend Dawn at SewDawnFun, patterns that don’t have a strong 90° direction are better because if printed on the fabric a little bit off alignment, it is frustrating for some quilters. This can be avoided by creating tossed patterns. So I turned a previously designed directional pattern into a tossed pattern. (I made a demonstration video showing this process called, Tossed Pattern Demo in Adobe Illustrator)
Another design feature that Dawn pointed out is that she likes texture and variation in the background of her fabrics so that the colors don’t look flat. I added dots and snowflakes to address this concern.
I am learning a lot, but I am still unsure how to launch my print-on-demand Spoonflower store. So far, I have sold one fabric swatch and made a total of $.50.
I hope you enjoy this penguin-patterned bedding. It is a charming and delightful way to add whimsy and personality to your bedroom. Whether you’re a fan of penguins or simply looking for a fun and unique bedding option. With its soft and comfortable materials and immersive theme, bedding with penguins is an excellent choice for anyone looking to create a cozy and inviting sleeping environment. The bedding can be purchased at Spoonflower.
